This is the USS Golden Gate, the largest and only Commissioned Star Trek™/Science Fiction Fan Club based in San Francisco, CA of STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. Her Motto, “Live Long and Party On!!” is also her mission: to make friends and have fun. To explore Science Fiction in all its forms. To seek out diversity in infinite combinations. To boldly give back to her community and live Gene Roddenberry’s dream of an all-inclusive future for mankind.
Membership in the Golden Gate is free. We ask that you join STARFLEET for as little as $10 (individual) or for a family starting at $14 and ending at $22 (Family max is 6 total). As you join choose the USS Golden Gate as your Chapter. Your voyage starts here! Welcome aboard!!

Our Ships
The San Francisco Task Force is made up of the USS Golden Gate, USS Angel, USS NewFoundland and the 49th MSG Marines with their support ships, Aerowing Alcatraz and Aerowing Farallones. These are modelled after ships within the Trek Universe. The fictional mission of the USS Golden Gate is Diplomacy, Medical Aid and Military support. In the real world the Task Force is how the USS Golden Gate members have fun, celebrate Star Trek™ and Science Fiction, support their community, promote safety and neighborhood preparedness, and inspire our younger members through fan events and education.

STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association. Inc. (STARFLEET) is the oldest and largest continuously-operating STAR TREK fan organization in the world. Founded in 1974, STARFLEET has grown to over 6000 members. They are spread around the world in over 225 chapters across 20+ countries. For nearly half a century, STARFLEET has provided Star Trek fans a way to make friends, have fun, give back to their communities, and show that the dream of Gene Roddenberry can live long and prosper.
STARFLEET offers its members many levels of participation.
CHAPTERS
Are named after a ship of the line or space station and have 10 or more members. They gather locally to have fun and get involved in their communities.
REGIONS
Cover a specific geographical area fostering interaction between chapters for conventions, charity events, and parties.
STARFLEET offers unparalleled resources for Star Trek fans worldwide. With a rank structure inspired by the show and movie history, you can gain new ranks based on your service to your ship, community, or the fleet. There are also plenty of groups to join and expand your fan experience. Most importantly, STARFLEET prioritizes having fun through various activities such as watch parties, book discussions, cosplay, community events, conventions, gaming, and more.

USS Newfoundland Cadets
The USS Newfoundland NCC-1196 is a Bonaventure Class Cruiser. She serves as a home for our Cadet Corps of the 49th MTU training school for the Arts and Sciences. She is currently accepting applications from Cadets from ages 5 through 17 who have been given a love of Star Trek by their parents and wish to continue that legacy. The focus of the Cadet Corps is education, whether Trek trivia or valuable real-life experiences, all in a kid-friendly format designed to be fun and make the most of growing up in the world and enjoying the best Trek fandom has to offer.
49th MSG Marines
We are a Military Styled Annex of STARFLEET’S San Francisco Chapter the USS Golden Gate. The Golden Gate’s mission is one of Diplomacy and Medical Aid. As the more Military like aspect of the same Science Fiction Fan Club our focus is on Community Safety and Neighborhood preparedness. Oh and having serious hardcore FUN!! The 49th MSG is an advocate of your local Community or Neighborhood Emergency Response Teams (CERT or NERT). Please look them up in your area, usually found on Fire Department websites.
